The Oral Roberts University Ignite Conference has announced plans to feature several internationally known worship artists. Pastor Judy Jacobs and musician Ricardo Sanchez will join ORU Live and Souls A’Fire as worship leaders during the conference, which will be held in Christ Chapel April 1-3, 2013.
Jacobs is the co-pastor of Dwelling Place Church International with her husband Jamie Jacobs in Cleveland, Tenn., and leads the International Institute of Mentoring program for helping people pursue their purpose. A gifted singer since childhood, Jacobs has recorded eight solo albums and hosts His Song Ministries at global conferences. She has also authored several books.
Sanchez is a Grammy-nominated, Dove Award-winning international worship leader. He has written or co-written songs such as "Power of the Cross," "Every Prayer," and "Great God," which are sung in churches across the globe. He serves as a consultant, worship coach and recently authored his first book “It's Not Over; How to keep moving forward when you feel you're losing the fight.”
ORU Live captures the songs, creativity and passion of ORU. Led by Jonathan Swindal and Daniel Tsubota, this dynamic worship team exists to spread the creativity and original music of ORU across the country and around the globe. ORU LIVE recently recorded a new worship album, “Come Like a Flood,” which is available on iTunes and other digital music stores.
Souls A’Fire is a gospel group that has been a thriving part of ORU for the past 40 years. Their musical repertoire ranges from passionate anthems to the energetic sounds of contemporary gospel. They seek to reach the inner-city community by empowering students to become well-rounded adults through focusing on education, spiritual preparation, and powerful music.
ORU Ignite is for all believers who are called to the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ—from every walk of life, denomination, and generation. Attendees will hear from the Word, spend time in the presence of God and learn how to effectively minister in a hurting world. Ministry leaders will leave the conference inspired, refreshed and empowered with the tools they need to increase their Kingdom impact.
The conference is sponsored by Charisma House and GEB America. Registration is free and open to the public at www.oru.edu/ignite. Attendees must register by March 25, 2013.
