DAVID OSBORNE NAMED “CONCERT PIANIST OF THE YEAR”

at The 22nd Annual L.A. Music Awards

David OsborneDavid Osborne, noted Steinway Artist and a 1981 Oral Roberts University graduate was recognized at the 22nd Annual L.A. Music Awards on Thursday, November 15, 2012. Osborne was named “Concert Pianist of the Year, 2012”. The event took place at the historic Avalon Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.

The L.A. Music Awards was founded in 1991 and is a show that combines the Hollywood F.A.M.E. (Film, Art, Music, Entertainment) Awards which honors leaders in the entertainment, music, sports, political, TV and Film Industries whose valuable contributions have defined excellence in their fields.

The sold out, red carpet event was hosted by comedian Brett Walkow and Tamara Henry former Miss Arkansas and news anchor at FOX and WB. Guests enjoyed a three course meal during the show and entertainment from various musical genres that performed throughout the evening. Boo Boo Stewart from the Twilight series had the honor of presenting his sister Fivel with an award.

Other recipients included Gabriele Ciampi, an Italian Composer and Conductor who received International Artist of the Year. Monte Pittman, who is a sideman for Madonna and has played for every Madonna live tour beginning with Madonna’s 2001 tour. Pittman received Career Achievement Guitarist Award. Fivel Stewart received the Rising Star Award for both her music and acting. Jason Becker received the Living Inspiration Award. While recording for David Lee Roth, he was diagnosed with ALS and given three years to live. He defied all odds and continues to compose more than 20 years later.

Osborne was recognized for his unforgettable stage presence and his ability to improvise any song from classical to contemporary to create his own masterpiece. Having performed for the last six United States Presidents and several dignitaries and celebrities, his career has taken him to several countries and concert venues. “Osborne has an amazing ability to take the listener on a musical journey through time, the Concert Stage is where David Osborne belongs!” said Al Bowman, founder of the L.A. Music Awards and the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards.

David has been requested by the President of the United States to perform December 21, 2012 at the White House and has accepted the invitation. Osborne is a regular performer at the Bellagio, Las Vegas, Nevada.
