Oral Roberts University and University Broadcasting, Inc. recently honored exceptional employees by presenting them with awards for excellence and service. Five staff members received Employee Excellence Awards for outstanding work related practices, while 95 personnel received Service Awards for milestone employment anniversaries.
“ORU employs some of the best and brightest minds in the higher education industry,” said ORU President Mark Rutland. “Our faculty and staff are continually seeking to find ways that they can help the university improve. We want to encourage and recognize these efforts that help ORU to provide excellent service and an unsurpassed educational experience.”
Employee Excellence Awards were given to personnel that exhibited innovative behavior enabling ORU to enhance customer service, lower costs and simplify processes for students, faculty and staff. The 2012 recipients include: Gina Giddens, Student Resources Department; Randall Iwanaga, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics and Math Department; Lois Newman, Office of the Provost; Trinnin Olsen, Admissions Department; and Gloria Smith Career Services Department.
The Employee Excellence Awards were made possible through donations from ORU Alumni. The five recipients all collected a $500 cash prize, a framed certificate and a photo taken with Rutland.
Service Awards were given out to faculty and staff who achieved milestone employment anniversaries between five and 40 years. The recipient list contained 36 new additions that joined long-standing honorees such as Ralph Fagin, Roger Hartman and E. Glenn Smith, who are all celebrating 40 years of employment.
