Oral Roberts University Launches New iPhone App
Oral Roberts University recently launched an exciting and user friendly new iPhone app. The upgraded app features a completely new visual package and interactive information about the university. Those wishing to download the new app can do so at oru.edu/app.
“ORU has a proven track record of developing innovative ways to communicate with our
community and friends,” said Jeremy Burton, ORU senior director for university relations and communications. “The new iPhone app has something for everyone and is another great tool to build relationships. It is an essential download for the campus community, alumni and friends."
Visitors to ORU will have access to a self-guided campus tour complete with photos, videos and written descriptions of the major structures on campus. The university has also eliminated the possibility of getting lost by adding a campus map with the ability to pinpoint the user’s exact location on a Google map. From there, they can search and get directions to the building of their choice.
Prospective students will want to visit the new admissions page. Here, they will have access to critical information that will guide them through the admissions process at ORU. From finding an admissions counselor to looking up deadlines, requesting information or learning more about the Quest Whole Person Scholarship Program, interested students have access to all they need to get started at ORU.
Current ORU students will find the new weather section helpful when getting ready for their walk to class. The university also ensured easy access to important emergency numbers, the ability to renew library books, and links to ORU videos and social media outlets. Additional features include a personalized checklist that educates students on important deadlines and ensures they are ready for school to begin.
Golden eagle fans will love the athletic section which allows users to view game schedules and keep up with the latest ORU sports news. The app also comes with the ability to play the ORU fight song and buy the latest ORU athletic gear.
ORU Alumni have their own section that highlights ways to get connected with each other and with ORU. Graduates can reconnect with old friends by signing up for the ORU online community, get the latest ORU news, search upcoming events and even give to the Quest Whole Person Scholarship Program. They also have access to publications such as Excellence Magazine and the 2012 Communique.
ORU plans to expand the new app to Android phones in the future. Those who wish to explore the new iPhone app can download it at oru.edu/app.
