ORU Welcomes Largest Freshman Class in 10 Years
Oral Roberts University announced today that the institution welcomed the largest freshman class in 10 years. The 617 freshman bring the total fall 2012 undergraduate and graduate enrollment up 76 students from last year to 3,335 students. Retention of freshmen from the fall of 2012 is over the 80 percent mark for the third straight year.
“Having the largest freshman class in ten years is certainly something to celebrate," said Oral Roberts University President Mark Rutland. "Retention rates are the purist indicator of student satisfaction and our retention rate shows that ORU students are energized about their experience.”
One factor influencing enrollment numbers is the whole person scholarship program (http://questscholarship.org). This scholarship is designed to aid well-rounded students who dream of furthering their education. Another contributing factor is excitement concerning the January 2013 grand opening of the new Armand Hammer Alumni-Student Center (http://www.hammercenter.org).
