Musical Guests Announced for “The Gathering at Oral Roberts University”

The announcement five well-known vocalists to perform at “The Gathering at Oral Roberts University” has sparked growing excitement. The Gathering will air live on GEB America DirecTV Channel 363, KGEB Tulsa TV 53 and gebamerica.com on September 23-29, beginning at 6 p.m. Central time

The performers include Jared Anderson, songwriter, vocalist and worship leader at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Trent Cory, songwriter and vocalist; Anthony Evans Jr., gospel singer, songwriter and previous contestant on NBC’s “The Voice”; Daniel Johnson, vocalist and member of Israel and New Breed; Micah Solomon, teacher, worship leader and songwriter.

Jared Anderson, a 2001 ORU graduate, is best known for his work with the Desperation Band and for authoring songs such as “Glorified,” “Amazed” and “Rescue” which are widely sung in churches around the world. He has also recorded several live CD’s and DVD’s including “Where To Begin”, “Where Faith Comes From” and “Live From My Church.” Anderson is currently a worship leader for New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. where he is working on a series of inspirational albums.

Trent Cory is an accomplished songwriter and vocalist. He has performed with the likes of Donnie McClurkin, Judy Jacobs, Martha Munizzi, Lee University Campus Choir, Alvin Slaughter and Gary Oliver. He has also appeared as a guest artist on TBN’s “Praise the Lord,” “CTN” and Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Orlando event. He is currently preparing for a follow up album to his 2008 release "Freedom IS".

Anthony Evans Jr. has performed over 1,000 concerts in his career and has shared the stage with such talents as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, David Phelps, FFH and Natalie Grant. He also thrilled television audiences as a contestant on season two of the popular NBC show “The Voice,” where he made it to the battle rounds for Christina Aguilera’s team. He has released six major studio projects including “Even More,” “Letting Go,” “The Bridge”, “What Christmas Means”, “Undisguised,” and the highly anticipated 2011 release, “Home.” Two of Evan’s music videos have claimed the top spot on the Gospel Music Channel for five consecutive weeks and in 2008 “The Bridge” topped the charts as the #1 downloaded Christian album in the country.

Daniel Johnson is a highly sought after vocalist, writer, producer, arranger and music director. He is a member of Israel & New Breed and performed on their popular albums “Live From Another Level” on which he sang “There’s Not A Friend,” and “Alive In South Africa” on which he sang “Surely,” “The Presence,” and “Favor of the Lord.” He has toured with artists including Martha Munizzi, Andrae Crouch, Chris Tomlin, and Darius Rucker. In addition to his work with New Breed, Johnson has shared on numerous recordings with artists including, Marvin Sapp, Mary Mary, Karen Clark-Sheard, JoAnn Rosario, Dave Hollister and Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Micah Solomon is a worship leader, recording artist, songwriter, arranger and musician. He is a gifted teacher in the area of praise and worship, and travels the country encouraging others to seek a new level of worship in their lives. He has also made several television appearances, including his most recent on Trinity Broadcast Network's “Praise The Lord."

During “The Gathering at ORU,” viewers will enjoy powerful Scripture teaching and worship. Information will also be shared about the world-changing work going on at Oral Roberts University and through it’s alumni around the world. Viewers will be given the opportunity to contribute to the Quest Whole Person Scholarship program, which will help ORU raise up more servant-leaders who will share the gospel and spread God’s love and healing power in every nation.
