Pastor Wayne Blackburn to speak in an Oral Roberts University Chapel Service
Reverend Wayne Blackburn will be a guest speaker in a chapel service at Oral Roberts University on Sept. 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. CST. Blackburn, who is known for his vision and heart towards missions, is the senior pastor at Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida.
Throughout Blackburn’s career his core concept has been “to know Christ and make Him known.” He is constantly striving to, "win one more soul to Christ." As a direct result, Blackburn and his church have given more than $10 million in the last 18 years towards missions.
Victory began in 1989 and has grown to more than 5,000 members. The church just completed it’s fifth building program, including a Sanctuary seating more than 3,000 people. Blackburn’s church continues to grow quickly prompting an expansion to include a second campus at Lakeside Village.
ORU holds chapel services twice weekly to promote spiritual development and foster community for students, faculty and staff. Blackburn joins a long list of internationally recognized speakers to appear in chapel services including Sharon Daugherty, co-founder and senior pastor at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Okla; Jentezen Franklin, senior pastor at Free Chapel in Gainesville, Ga; Willie George, senior pastor at Church on the Move in Tulsa, Okla; Rob Hoskins, president and CEO of Florida-based ministry OneHope; Dr. Myles Munroe, senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship; James Robison founder and president of LIFE Outreach International.
The community is invited to attend chapel in person or watch on the soon to be GEB America network which can be seen on DirecTV Channel 363, Tulsa TV-53 and www.gebamerica.com.
