ORU Launches National Search For President

Oral Roberts University President Mark Rutland announced last fall his decision to step down from the presidency of ORU at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. The ORU Board of Trustees is launching a national search to recruit the university's fourth president.

A presidential search committee has been named and consists of ORU trustees Board Chair Mart Green, Dr. Don Argue, Mary Banks, Rob Hoskins, and Gilberto Velez; Carol Holderness, ORU women's chaplain (representing staff); Dr.Timothy Norton, ORU professor in the graduate program for the College of Education( representing faculty); Jentre Olsen, president of ORU Student Association (representing students); Matt Rearden, chair of the ORU Alumni Board (representing alumni).

The committee has chosen the firm CarterBaldwin Executive Search led by Managing Partner Price Harding and based in Atlanta, Georgia to assist the committee in its important work.  “The committee was impressed by CarterBaldwin and their recent experience handling searches in Christian higher education including successful Presidential searches for Wheaton College, Gordon College and Palm Beach Atlantic University,” said Green.

Confidential applications and nominations will be accepted until the position is filled. Candidate screening will begin immediately. For best consideration, letters of inquiry and nominations should be submitted prior to June 15, 2012.
