Engineering students win competitions at regional ASME Conference
Sixteen Oral Roberts University engineering students recently returned from the annual American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) regional student professional development conference, held in Baton Rouge and hosted by Louisiana State University.
ORU engineering student Chad Carrol, assisted by Aaron Settles and Joshua Weed, won the old guard technical poster competition with his poster titled "The Intelligent Swing: Mechanically-Actuated Automatic Bidirectional Swing Gate Mechanism."
Another engineering student Christopher Barker, assisted by Aron Romasanta, won the technical Web page competition with his Web page titled "Design of a Vertically-Integrated Recycling System."
Joshua Weed received the fourth place in the old guard oral presentation competition, and Luke Chinworth, Charles Shull, Matthew Burton, and Stephen Doty also received fourth place in the student design competition.
