Fall Career Expo Helps Students in the Job Hunt

By Ally Powell

Career Services is currently hosting a Fall Career Expo. This event will help students get a leg up in the job hunt with mock interviews, resume courses and meetings with employers and graduate schools.

The Career Expo began last Friday with the opportunity to participate in a mock job interview. This exercise teaches students how to answer questions asked in job interviews. The student gets feedback afterward to sharpen their interviewing skills.

This event stretches through this week beginning Monday with resume workshops from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In this workshop, students will learn how to create an effective resume. Career Services worker, Beth Johnson, will coach students on how to fine-tune their resumes.

This Wednesday on the third floor of the Learning Resource Center, over 35 employers and graduate schools including, ONEOK, Griffen Communications, ORU graduate programs and Oklahoma State University Tulsa graduate programs will be here to recruit ORU students. Students are encouraged to bring their resumes to this event.
