ORU Professors Contribute to Christian Encyclopedia

After three years of work, eight Oral Roberts University professors have been published in The Encyclopedia of Christian Literature. The two-volume encyclopedia was released in May.

This encyclopedia is the first to treat, in a single work, many significant Christian authors and literary forms from the past 2000 years and summarizes their literary contributions. The two volumes together contain more than 40 essays on genres and types of Christian writing, over 400 essays that summarize the writings and lives of significant Christian authors, bibliographies, an index, a timeline of Christian literature and a list of the greatest Christian books published.

The Encyclopedia of Christian Literature is expected to sell 5,000 sets primarily to academic and public libraries.

The ORU faculty that contributed to this book are Dr. Mark E. Roberts (associate editor), Director of the Holy Spirit Research Center; Dr. Joann Furlow Allen, Assistant Professor of English; Dr. Linda Gray, Professor of English; Lori Kanitz, Assistant Professor of Composition and Christian Aesthetics; Dr. Paul L. King, Assistant Professor of Theology and Faculty Coordinator for the Diploma of Theological Studies Program; Dr. Kay B. Meyers, Professor of English; Sally Jo Shelton, Assistant Professor of Learning Resources; and Dr. Mary Alice Trent, Professor of English.
