ORU Hosts Competition for Christian Schools

Christian School Final Competition Over 240 junior high and high school students from five states and four countries have flooded Oral Roberts University for the Christian School Finals Competition (CSFC). CSFC runs through the week of May 24 on ORU's campus and gives students the opportunity to showcase their talent in over 50 events.

This annual competition promotes scholarship, spiritual growth, sportsmanship and unity among participating schools. This years activities include the Academic Bowl, preaching, tennis matches, choirs, poetry reading, photo critique and several others. At the end of the week, students will celebrate their work with a banquet held in the CityPlex Towers.

The theme for this year's competition is "Be the Message" based off of Colossians 2:6. The theme is incorporated into the daily devotions and through out the competition.

"We are thrilled to have students and sponsors on campus," said Cindy Lewis, event coordinator for the competition. "This competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their work and grow closer to Christ."

A variety of schools are attending this competition including international students from Columbia, Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador. The states of Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri and Oklahoma are represented. Winning students receive a variety of scholarships.
