Oral Roberts University's 2008-2009 performing arts season begins with a unique production of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," Oct. 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 5 at 2 p.m in Howard Auditorium.

With modern setting, staging, and props, the unchanged words of Shakespeare take on new meaning and poignancy. Directed by new faculty member and ORU alumnus Chris Crawford (previously of The Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C.), this show promises to be a stirring portrayal of the shattered lives of the royal family of Denmark, a true classic.

Tickets may be purchased the week of the show by calling the Howard Auditorium Box Office at (918) 495-6154. All tickets are $5 (cash only).

Special high school and middle school performances will be held the mornings of Oct. 1, 2, and 3. Reservations required. Please contact the Director of Theatre at 495-6866 for more information.
