TULSA—Oral Roberts' record setting pitcher Dennis Bigley (Lancaster, Texas) has been named to the Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball All-America second-team, it was announced on Thursday. Bigley, a senior right-hander who earned five different All-America honors in 2004, joins former ORU stand-out David Castillo as the only players in school history to be named All-American in consecutive seasons.

The 2005 Mid-Continent Conference Pitcher and co-Player of the Year for the second straight season, Bigley is 11-3 with a 1.47 ERA in 16 starts as ORU enters regional play on Friday. In 104.0 innings, Bigley has allowed 68 hits and only 24 walks while limiting opponents to a .188 batting average. In Mid-Continent Conference play, Bigley was 6-0 with a 0.00 ERA, holding league opponents scoreless in 41.1 innings of work.

The Mid-Con's and ORU's career leader with 41 victories, Bigley is just the 25th player in NCAA history with 40 or more career wins, and the first player in ORU history to win 10 or more games in three different seasons.

The Golden Eagles won their eighth consecutive Mid-Continent Conference Tournament title last month and are the No. 3 seed in the Clemson Regional. ORU opens Regional play against No. 2 seed College of Charleston at 2 p.m., CDT on Friday.
