Experience ORU

Experiencing all that ORU has to offer is the purpose behind a new department here on campus. As a new branch of Student Development, Student Experience will provide opportunities for students to discover their potential and further their growth each year. This department's goal is to set up customized programs for each year a student is at school.

The First Year Experience program has already been launched and will set the stage for future programs. The First Year Experience program offers many ways students can explore all of the opportunities to get involved at ORU. Two of those opportunities are Blueprint and Mentoring Groups. Blueprint is a group of 30 new students who want to be a part of shaping the future for their class. They orchestrate events and ensure that the voice of their class is heard. Mentoring Groups are a way for first-year students to connect with others and help find their purpose and place at ORU. They are a way for students to talk one-on-one with others on campus in a smaller setting.

With the future development of programs for second-, third-, and fourth-year students, this department will provide opportunities for students to experience ORU in ways specific to their year. This department has a heart for students to receive all that they came to ORU for by getting involved and interacting with people around them. Be looking for more development in this department in the near future. Student Experience will directly impact students in great ways, enriching their education at ORU.
