The Great Move-Out 2008

The campus teemed with activity during finals week, April 28-May 3. Students kept late hours as they studied for finals, packed and cleaned their rooms and said their goodbyes to friends.

Parents and family members pitched in as they hauled seemingly endless loads of stuff from the dorms to their cars, trucks and rental vans. For the Class of 2008, the week was filled with nostalgia, and perhaps a little stress, as they finished strong and held their heads high through Commencement ceremonies on May 3.

Dreaming big. The Tulsa Dream Center parks a truck in the middle of the Lower Lot during move-out, making it easy for students to donate clothing and other items. By the end of the week, the truck is often bursting with donated items.Click Photo to Enlarge

Ramp time. Students and parents alike utilized the ramp access to the Towers dormitories. The Student Association and Housing Department loaned out moving carts to help move more cumbersome objects.Click Photo to Enlarge

A word of encouragement. The announcement board, located on the 3-North wing of Claudius Roberts Hall, wishes well the residents of Kalos as they go headlong into finals week and move-out. Click Photo to Enlarge

A typical sight. Boxes and suitcases line one wall of a Claudius hallway, in keeping with the rule that items may only be stacked against one side of the hall during move-out.Click Photo to Enlarge

Making progress. Graduating senior Rhema Muncy smiles as she packs up her dorm room one last time. Her summer plans include a well-earned vacation to Hawaii with family and a job hunt once she arrives back in her home state of Colorado.Click Photo to Enlarge
