ORU Professor Chosen as President-Elect for the Oklahoma Chapter of NASW


TULSA, OKLA – Dr. Lanny Endicott, associate professor and director of the social work program, was elected to the position of president-elect of the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). He assumes the role of president during the summer of 2008 and will serve in this position until 2010.

As president Dr. Endicott will chair quarterly Oklahoma NASW board meetings and preside over the Oklahoma NASW state conference in the spring. He will serve on the licensing board for the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers. And, he will serve as one of two Oklahoma representatives at the 2008 Delegate Assembly for NASW in Washington, D.C., held in August. At the national Delegate Assembly representatives from each of the state chapters will review, update and add to policies officially held by the NASW in areas such as family policy, health care, people with disabilities, international policy on human rights, housing and economic policy.

Dr. Endicott has been teaching at ORU since 1973 and has been a member of the NASW since the 1980s. He has a bachelor's in social work from Southwest Missouri State University, a master's in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a master's in social work from the University of Missouri, and a doctor of ministry degree in theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
