Fred Creek Drainage Improvements—Fast Facts

Where it falls: from south of the LRC/GC to where Fred Creek meets Lewis Avenue near the Mabee Center
- widening of the banks of Fred Creek
- alteration of the course of Fred Creek in some areas
- replacement of existing riprap with pre-cast blocks along embankments
- addition of terraced landscaping and new vegetation
- addition of a 10-foot-wide access road/running path along the north bank
- replacement of the Evanston Avenue box culvert bridge
- removal of the two existing pedestrian bridges leading from the GC and Christ's Chapel to the Mabee Center parking lot
- construction of a new pedestrian bridge to the Mabee Center lot, which will be wide enough for vehicular traffic, if necessary
- replacement of the traffic bridge leading from the Mabee Center parking lot toward the Avenue of Flags
