TULSA—Caleb Green (Tulsa, Okla.) scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in leading Oral Roberts University to a 68-52 win over Tulsa and its third straight victory over cross-town rival Tulsa in the annual Mayor's Cup game, Saturday at the Mabee Center.

Green was 8-of-14 from the field and made all four of his free throws as he recorded his third double-double of the season, and his third straight double-double in the series. Green also tied a career high-tying four steals. He scored 16 points in the first half.

The game was decided in the first half. ORU (4-2) jumped out an 11-point lead less than four minutes in. A short jumper by Mickey Michalec (Skiatook, Okla.) gave the Golden Eagles a 13-2 lead with 16:14 left before halftime.

Leading 17-8 with 13:15 left in the half, ORU went on a 13-0 run, taking a 30-8 lead on a pair off free throws by Larry Owens (Mesa, Ariz.) with 9:11 left. ORU increased the first-half lead to as many as 26 points before settling for a 41-17 halftime lead.

Tulsa (1-4) never really challenged ORU in the second half. The Golden Hurricane closed to within 45-29 on a pair of free throws by Deion James with 15:49 to go, but ORU slowly pushed the lead back up over 20 points and grabbed a 58-34 advantage on a layup by Marchello Vealy (Oklahoma City, Okla.) with 9:42 to play.

ORU's defense limited Tulsa to 41.2 percent (21-51) shooting, the fifth time in six games an ORU opponent has failed to shoot 50 percent. The Golden Hurricane were just 1-for-8 from 3-point range, and just 9-of-14 from the line. The Golden Eagles turned 27 TU turnovers into 26 points.

ORU shot 48.6 percent (18-37) in the first half, but dipped to 30 percent in the second half and finished at 40.3 percent (27-67) for the game.

Junior guard Ken Tutt (Garland, Texas) scored 14 points as the only Golden Eagle besides Green to reach double-digits in scoring. Owens had seven points, nine rebounds, five assists and a career-high seven steals.

Anthony Price led Tulsa with 17 points.

The Golden Eagles return to action when they host Missouri State, 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
