Oral Roberts Earns No.15 seed, Set to Face Purdue in First Round

The Golden Eagles (22-10) are led by Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year Elisha Turek, who was the only player in the conference to average a double-double scoring 17.2 points and grabbed 10.5 rebounds per game. Turek is the Mid-Con's all-time leading scorer with 2,030 points. The senior also is the first Mid-Con player to score 2,000 points and record 1,000 rebounds in a career.
Jenny Hardin ranks second on the squad in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles claimed the Mid-Con's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after beating Oakland, 72-55, in the championship of the conference title game.
The 11th-ranked Boilermakers enter the NCAA Tournament as Big Ten Tournament Champions, defeating Ohio State 64-52 in the championship game. This is the 14th consecutive appearance for Purdue. The Boilermakers are paced by Katie Gearlds, who averages 18.5 points a game. Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton and Erin Lawless also average in double-digits scoring 14.4 and 10.6 points respectively. Wisdom-Hylton leads the team with 8.1 rebounds a game.
The Golden Eagles and the Boilermakers last met each other in the NCAA Tournament in 1999, with the Boilermakers winning 68-48 in the first round. The game was played in West Lafayette, Ind. on the campus of Purdue. The Boilermakers went on to win the national championship.
