Election Ends; 'No' Votes Win

The alumni have spoken. The proposed amendment to the ORU Alumni Association Constitution did not pass.

This is the amendment on which alumni voted (underlined):
Article IV - Board of Directors
This Association shall be governed by an appointed Board of Directors. The method of selection and appointment, as well as the conditions of eligibility for appointment, shall be as described in the bylaws, provided that:

• a majority of the Board shall not be employed by Oral Roberts University;
  
• each Director shall be appointed to a term of three (3) years, in accordance with provisions set forth in the bylaws;

The amendment required a two-thirds majority to pass. It received 374 "Yes" votes (58 percent) to 270 "No" votes (42 percent), for a total of 644 votes.
