The Golden Eagle baseball team has a 31-14 record (13-2 in the Mid-Continent Conference). The men are 5-2 against the nation's top 25 teams, and 5-0 against regional powers Oklahoma State University, Arkansas, and Wichita State.

On May 16, ORU earned an impressive 13-2 win against #17 OSU.

ORU's Nick Jones didn't just throw a complete game on May 7; he threw the seventh no-hitter in school history, a 9-0 win against Chicago State. He was subsequently named a Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week. It's the first national honor of the Broken Arrow, Okla., senior's career. He was also named the Pro-Line Cap National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. That honor puts him on the watch list for the Roger Clemens Award, which goes to the national collegiate pitcher of the year.

The Golden Eagles host the Mid-Continent Conference tournament, May 25-27.

The women's track and field team won the Mid-Con Outdoor Track and Field championship on May 13. In the process, they snared three big honors: Coach of the Year for Joe Dial, Athlete of the Year for Aisha Mitchell, and Newcomer of the Year for Rachel Talbert.

Men's track and field claimed second place at the Mid-Con Outdoor championships, winning eight individual titles. Andretti Bain led the field in the 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles, and 4x400-meter relay. In distance events it was James Wanjiku, Shaun Smith, and Prince Mumba leading the way for the Golden Eagles.

The women's golf team took part in the NCAA West Regional, played in Auburn, Wash., May 11-13. Despite a hole-in-one by Jessica Gibson on the par 3 eighth hole and a strong effort by her teammates, the women finished in a tie for 18th place.

The men's golf team finished third at the Mid-Con championships, April 24 and 25 in Indianapolis. At season's end, ORU's Chris Beall was named Mid-Con Newcomer of the Year.

At the Mid-Con tournament, played April 28 and 29 in Valparaiso, Ind., the women's tennis team lost in the semifinal round to IUPUI by a 4-2 score. On May 10, ORU's Emily Arkell and Diana Maria Salas were honored by being named to the Mid-Con's All-Conference First Team.

In men's tennis, the Golden Eagles lost in the April 22 finals of the Mid-Con tournament to Western Illinois by a 4-1 score. This was the first time in six years that ORU did not earn a bid to the NCAA tournament; they were in that spotlight from 2001 through 2005. For the third year in a row, however, ORU's Tyrone Hill was named to the All-Conference First Team.
