Each player was also given a chance to express his thoughts.
Reggie Borges said he wanted to "thank the Maniacs for cheering really loud. I love you guys." (The Mabee Maniacs are students who have taken cheering at ORU to a whole new level.)
Brucal Greene said, "This school has impacted my life in a tremendous way. It is an honor to be graduating from this university."
Kendrick Moore said that he "would like to thank God for blessing me to be a part of this program," and thanked his parents and others for helping him make it through "two precious long years of my life."
Tyrone Tiggs, a man of few words, said, "God is the reason for all of my success."
Coach Sutton described Borges as "one of, if not the best players in this league." Of Tiggs, whose hometown became the subject of a feature story in the Tulsa World, Sutton said, "I'm going to miss the announcer saying, 'From Two Egg, Florida, Tyrone Tiggs!' He's a big part of why we've had two outstanding seasons."
Moore referred to Sutton as a "father figure" in his remarks, and Sutton responded by saying, "It touched my heart what you said. I liked that." Moore, he said, "has matured and become an outstanding young man."
Greene, a walk-on, "came here on faith," Sutton said. "Oral Roberts is where I'm supposed to be," he told Sutton. In time, "we awarded him a scholarship and he earned every bit of it," Sutton said.
And to the crowd, Sutton closed by saying, "Thanks for being a great 'sixth man.'"
