A Whale of An Opportunity

Taking literally ORU's mandate to "go into every person's world," 37 ORU students are heading to Hannover, Germany, for what is being billed as the largest World's Fair in history, EXPO 2000.

From June to October, the TV production and broadcast journalism students will be working with a Canadian organization called Channel of Hope, shooting and editing footage and hosting programs for satellite and Internet broadcast. They will produce three daily programs aimed at the 18-25 age group.

"This is an incredible opportunity for everyone involved," says Roger Bush, a faculty organizer of the project. "They will literally be cranking out 2 hours of original programming each day."

Seven of the ORU students will be working with the official youth pavilion--a giant, three-dimensional glass fish known as the Pavilion of Hope.
