ORU Alumna Crowned Miss Oklahoma 2000

The fifth time proved to be the charm for ORU's Kristin Steveson (2000), who won the Miss Oklahoma Pageant on June 10.

Steveson began entering pageants in 1995, as a way of earning money for college. This latest pageant victory, in her fifth and final year of Miss Oklahoma eligibility, was worth more than $20,000 in scholarships. An opera singer, Steveson plans to earn a master's degree from the University of Houston's Moore School of Music.

Steveson's critical issue for the Miss Oklahoma Pageant was the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. She has been working with the organization for more than five years.
