Scholarship Giveaways Will Enliven Alumni Chapter Galas
The Office of Alumni Relations is planning two such occasions in February 2000 to help warm up your winter. First on the schedule is ORU vs. UMKC on Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Downtown Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The women play at 2 p.m.; the men, at 7. There's a complimentary Gates Barbecue dinner reception from 4:30 to 6:30, and free game tickets for all alumni and their family members. (Dinner and tickets are compliments of local donors.) President Richard Roberts will share what's happening at ORU, and two $2,500 scholarships will be given out.
The second event? ORU vs. Oakland University on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the OU Athletic Arena in Rochester, Mich. We've scheduled a free reception from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., followed by the women's (4:30) and men's (7 o'clock) games. Tickets may be purchased from the OU ticket office. There'll be a special speaker from ORU, and a drawing for two $2,500 scholarships.
