Autori Concert Rewards High School Students

Maestro Franco Autori, loved by hundreds of former ORU students because of his passion for music, continues to influence the work of future fine artists. At the 10th annual Franco Autori Memorial Scholarship Concert, held in Mabee Center on Oct. 12, more than $90,000 in scholarships was awarded to 25 Tulsa-area high school students.

Each of 21 students received at least $1,000. In a special drawing, five students hit the scholarship jackpot; ORU awarded two $5,000 awards, two $10,000 awards, and one $40,000 scholarship.

This year's concert theme was "Land That I Love--A Tribute to American Music." Dove and Emmy Award-winner Ralph Carmichael conducted the program, which featured the ORU Orchestra and Combined Choirs.
