Alumnus--and Kermit--Represent ORU at Indiana March Madness
|
On Monday, March 13, School of Nursing graduate Sheri (Clark-85) Class was one of 65 fans to represent NCAA-bound teams as part of a "human bracket" during the Coca-Cola March Madness at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, home of this year's Final Four.
Her accessory of choice for the life-sized photo banner: Kermit the Frog.
"Kermit was the unofficial mascot when I attended from '81 to '85," Class explained. "We used to throw him around the Mabee Center during the games--we might have even had a person dressed up like Kermit, but that is a little foggy (or froggy?). I have great memories of ORU."
Class, mother of four, has worked on and off as an RN and is now working for her husband, Drew, a geriatric psychiatrist and an '88 graduate of the ORU School of Medicine. Both are sports fans and remember the Titans' '84 trip to the NCAA. It was Class's pastor, also a fan, who recommended her for the human bracket for this year's dance.
Originally from Lebanon, Ind., Class now lives in Brownsburg, a suburb of Indianapolis.
"I was very proud to represent ORU," she said. "Go, Golden Eagles!"
