Biology Students Show Off Their Work at the Tri-Beta Awards


Nine biology students accompanied by Rachel Budavich, biology instructor, presented their senior research for the Tri-Beta Regional Meeting April 3 and 4 at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station at Lake Texoma, OK.

Sompa Otabil, junior, won first place for her oral presentation on her research concerning the prevalence of community-associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) among the Oral Roberts University community. Also, Miriam Adamiec, junior, won third place for her oral presentation concerning her research on the prevalence of Escherichia coli before and after rainfall in three lakes in northern Michigan. Dr. Joel Gaikwad is the club advisor for Tri-Beta, the biological honors society.
