The Power of Change

"I learned about asking the right questions about what I believe in," Baltasar said. "If there's one thing that's amazing about ORU, it's the people. These are some friends that I feel I could keep for life."
Tom Winters 80, who practices law in Tulsa at Winters, King and Associates, then gave a candid account of how he began at ORU as a pre-med student and providentially decided to study law. Winters has a track record of representing clients such as Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and many other ministries and churches. With laughter and stories punctuating his address, he interacted with the alumni gathered by challenging them personally and giving away books written by his clients.
"What I'd like us all to consider and do is to figure out something we're going to change," Winters said, after sharing that he had spent time the night before writing down 10 things he wanted to change pertaining to his body, mind and spirit. "Too often we don't change. There's nothing more miserable than not changing."
As the luncheon came to a close, alumni spent time mingling and thumbing through their new books. Be sure to join in the fun at the next luncheon, scheduled for Tuesday, April 21. The featured speaker will be Tim Cameron 72, who serves as the headmaster at Metro Christian Academy in Tulsa.
