What do you love about ORU?
I love the cultural diversity of ORU. The personal insight you gain by studying with people from around the world opens your heart and mind to perspectives on family, relationships and theology you never knew existed. This rich multicultural perspective is rooted in our mission and remains part of our continued vision as we move forward with a renewed passion and enthusiasm to enable students to go into every person's world with God's message of salvation and healing.
What makes the Graduate School of Theology unique from programs at other Universities?
The ORU College of Theology and Ministry features the highest-level accreditation in the United States and Canada in an environment where spiritual growth is pursued as vigorously as academic discipline. Another one of the most exceptional differences, according to our alumni, is the mentoring attitude of our seminary professors. Our faculty strives to support students in their whole person development by creating a rich learning climate oriented toward fullness of a life in the Spirit.
What do you enjoy about living in Tulsa?
Tulsa is a beautiful city with a "small town" feel; people are generally friendly and helpful. The citywide extensive walking/running/biking trail system, especially alongside the Arkansas River, is a wonderful place to relax or get some exercise. I enjoy Oklahoma's natural scenery, and I occasionally hunt East of Tulsa. Shopping at one of the area malls or walking through one of our award-winning museums is another great way to spend the day. There is a rich spiritual heritage in Tulsa with wonderful churches everywhere. We have many high profile ministries, top notch conferences, and big-name concerts coming to town, so there is always something fun to do!
