Whole Person Scholarship

Honoring those who are strong in mind, body and spirit

The Whole Person concept - developing mind, body and spirit to become the person God wants you to be - is central to the mission of ORU. To encourage students in this pursuit, ORU offers the Whole Person Scholarship established through the gifts of generous donors with a heart for education and a belief in the work of the university.

In addition to developing intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically, students who receive this scholarship must demonstrate:

• A Christian worldview
• A lifestyle of service
• Academic achievement
• Leadership ability
• Vision to make a life-changing impact on others
• A healthy lifestyle

To be considered for the Whole Person Scholarship, a freshman or transfer student has to be nominated by a school, church or community leader or a member of the ORU faculty, staff or alumni. If you are selected as a nominee, you will be invited to campus for Scholarship Day Competitions in the fall or spring. Recipients are selected by the Scholarship Review Committee.

Whole Person Scholarship awards range from $2,500 to full tuition and are renewable for up to four years. They are valued from $10,000 to $75,000 over a four-year period depending on tuition rates. In addition, 25 full tuition scholarships will be available to new freshman and transfer students starting in Fall 2009.
