Transfer to ORU this Fall! Merit Scholarships and Awards are available and will be calculated on the basis of your Transfer GPA. Students must be admitted to ORU prior to receiving any official scholarship offer. The application fee is waived when you apply online at www.oru.edu.
Merit Scholarships and Awards
$8000 President's Merit Scholarship
Qualification: Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.5 and above.
$7000 Dean's Merit Scholarship
Qualification: Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0-3.49.
$5,000 Golden Eagle Award
Qualification: Amount is contingent upon comprehensive review of your admission file.
$3,000 True Blue Award
Qualification: Amount is contingent upon comprehensive review of your admission file.
Whole Person Scholarship
Transfer students are welcome to participate in the Whole Person Scholarship program.
All ORU Grants and Scholarships combined cannot exceed tuition. Other expenses such as room, board, books and fees may be funded from Federal, State, or private funds. All ORU Institutional awards are based upon full time enrollment, which is a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
Merit Scholarships to Transfer Students are awarded on the basis of your Transfer GPA.
Your ORU cumulative GPA will be evaluated for renewal purposes after the spring semester. Merit scholarships ranging from $2000 - $6000 have a cumulative GPA requirement of 2.50 for renewal. Merit scholarships above $6000 have a cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 for renewal.
If you have not met the renewal criteria you will be given the option to enroll in residential summer classes in order to raise your GPA. If you have met or exceeded the renewal GPA your Merit Scholarship will automatically renew on your Vision account. Merit Scholarship amounts are final and do not increase according to earned GPA or hours.
Talent Scholarships
Talent Scholarships are available to students majoring in Art, Dance, Drama and Music. Auditions take place during Whole Person Scholarship Days and College Weekend. Please click here to request a time to audition.
