Student Story: Anabelle Torres
My name is Anabelle Torres. Throughout my life, I always knew that I wanted to study at Oral Roberts University. Once I learned what the university was founded on and what it stands for, I fell in love with it. I knew that it was where I wanted to be during my college years, and after visiting the campus for a College Weekend event during my senior year of high school, I knew that ORU is where God wanted me to be too.
However, I’m not the type of student that had the financial ability to choose whichever school I wanted to attend. I knew God had a place for me at ORU, but financially it was not adding up. Because of this, I enrolled in a state university, and I ended up staying there for over two years.
After I had already given up hope of being a student at ORU, God opened the door for this opportunity once again. He made me see that He still had a place for me at ORU and wanted me to try again. So, I went through the whole admissions process once again, and ORU offered me the financial help I needed! God placed the perfect amount of financial aid in my path so I could make the leap and move my life to Tulsa. He helped make my dream to study nursing at ORU a reality!
