Works in the implementation and coordination of student success and retention programs and initiatives to proactively address at-risk student concerns as well as barriers to persistence. Provides technical support including department database maintenance, data mining and analysis related to student success and retention.
Collaborates with the University academic departments through success initiatives (i.e. coaching, mentoring and creating individualized student academic plans) to meet university established at-risk and overall student retention and graduation goals. Specific "at risk" student categories include Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Academic Probation. Leads programs (i.e. SAP) that target at-risk student success initiatives.
EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelors degree in related field, such as: Education, Business or Counseling. Prefer Masters degree in related field.
Prefer two years University related, exempt level experience. Must have previous experience with success coaching, problem solving strategies and data analysis. Must be able to effectively communicate Satisfactory Academic Progress policies and procedures to various constituencies. Must be detail oriented, accurate, and adept in presenting data.
Prefer familiarity with Banner Software Program.
Prefer competency in SQL Plus and VBA, programming languages.
Prefer familiarity with Satisfactory Academic Progress Regulations.
Must have a customer service mindset and excellent organizational skills. Computer experience should include MS Word, Access & Excel. Requires good grammar, punctuation, mathematical, spelling, and proofreading skills. Must have the ability to work under stress while meeting prescribed deadlines. Must have the ability to learn quickly and use good judgment regarding policies and procedures.
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
Must maintain compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its procedures.
