Job Description

The Music Department invites applications for a full-time Worship Music faculty appointment to begin in August, 2016.  Rank and compensation are commensurate with education and experience.

Duties

Primary Duties include:

  • Organizing and overseeing the worship arts curriculum
  • Teaching courses in the worship arts curriculum
  • Arranging for student internships and guest appearances of visiting worship leaders and performers
  • Organizing weekly music seminar meetings
  • Designing and implementing worship services, including familiarity with planning software and other current software packages for church use.
  • Familiarity with the current digital/technical demands of contemporary worship practice and a working, experiential knowledge of both set-up and function.

Requirements

A  D.M.A. or Ph.D in music. The candidate should have experience working with a pastoral staff and leading/directing worship services with both instrumentalists and vocalists. A strong familiarity with major publishers of worship music and programming services is necessary as well as strong keyboard and vocal skills. The candidate should be familiar with and conversant in current praise music styles used in charismatic churches and be able to integrate Christian faith ideals in the classroom, church and community.
