Job Description

The Oral Roberts University College of Arts and Cultural Studies is accepting applications in the Communication and Media Department for an Instructor/Assistant Professor & Media Facilities Director

Duties

  • The applicant must be able to assume student advisory responsibilities and multimedia/technology related activities.
    Responsible for the proper planning, designing, installation and maintenance of all electronic and mechanical equipment and systems for the Communication and Media Department Media facilities which includes two TV studios, two radio station studios, a five station edit lab, the Print and Broadcast Journalism Lab, a seven console audio lab, Foley/ADR studio, Multi-Media Institution (MMI) Lab, the ENG/EFP equipment lab office and TV8/9 audio labs. Supervises student worker(s) as well.
  • Faculty members must serve on university and academic committees and attend chapel services. Opportunities for faculty development are available and participation is strongly encouraged.
  • Must be able to develop and draw and update schematic drawings. Prefer experience supervising engineering crews, designing basic circuits, repairing component levels all types of electronic equipment, and the ability to research for parts, components or systems.

Physical Demands

Physical & environmental requirements will include but not be limited to: sitting, standing, stooping, walking, kneeling, pushing/pulling of carts, manual dexterity for operation of machinery and office equipment, occasional lifting of 26-50 lbs. of computers or other equipment, occasional using of equipment requiring high dexterity (soldering iron, meter probes, etc.), and good near, far, color, and depth vision.
