Sigma Tau Delta - The International English Honor Society

Sigma Tau Delta's central purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies.

Sigma Tau Delta is open to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled as either an English or Writing major/minor
  • Completed at least 9 hours of English (ENG) or Writing (WRT) courses, not including ENG101 or 305, with a grade of "B" or better.
  • Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all college courses
  • Completed at least three semesters of college course work

All non-English/Writing majors who meet the last three criteria are eligible to become Associate Members.

The Pentangle (also known as the English Club)

The English Club meets periodically for poetry readings and various social events. The club is open to English and Writing majors as well as to any students who enjoy literature and writing.
