Grade Book

There are four different methods by which you can access GradeBook:

1. Access GradeBook at the following URL through a web browser:
http://lxsrv7.oru.edu/~daveland/GradeBook/GradeBook.php

To open GradeBook through this method, click on the following link:

Open GradeBook

This version provides access only to your grades. Other features of GradeBook must be accessed through the other methods described below.

NOTE: At the present time, this method is certified to operate correctly only in the FireFox browser. You can utilize other browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer) but features may or may not work correctly.

2. Run the program that is already available on your local computer.gradebook

This situation is in effect when you see the grade book icon on your computer desktop.
This is the option you should use if it is available to you. To invoke the program, double click on the GradeBook icon on your computer desktop.

3. Temporarily download the program to your computer and then run it.

Utilize this option if the program is not available on your local computer, and you do NOT wish to install it on your computer.

The advantage of this approach is that you always get the latest version of the program, and you do not have to install the program on your local computer. The disadvantage is that there is a slight delay each time the program is activated.

To activate the program, click on the following link:

Run GradeBook

If you are utilizing Internet Explorer, when you see the question: "Do you want to run or save this file?" click on the "Run" button. If you then see the question "Are you sure you want to run this software?" then again click on the "Run" button.

4. Permanently download the program to your computer desktop and then run it.

Utilize this option if the program is not available on your local computer, and you wish to install it on your computer.

The advantage of this approach is that after the first download of the program, you eliminate future delays each time the program is activated. The disadvantage is that in the future you may not be working with the latest version of the program. (A message will alert you if a later version of the program is available. To resolve this situation, you simply download the program again.)

To download the program, click on the following link:

Download GradeBook

If you are utilizing Internet Explorer, when you see the question: "Do you want to run or save this file?" click on the "Save" button. In the "Save As" dialog box, click to select "Desktop" for the "Save in" destination (the file name should be "gbook.exe"). Then click on the "Save" button. After this, you will find the grade book icon on your desktop with the title "gbook.exe". Double click on that icon to activate the program.
