Alternative testing is provided to allow a student to accurately demonstrate his/her knowledge and achievement as opposed to measuring the impact of a disability. Because the University seeks to provide testing services in an efficient manner, we ask that students approved for testing accommodations adhere to the following:

  1. Students choosing to take their test through Student Support Services should schedule that test at least 2 business days prior to the scheduled test day.
  2. Tests are normally administered during the same time the rest of the class is taking the test. Any rescheduling must be first approved by the instructor and the Student Support staff.
  3. Normal testing room hours are 7:15-3:00, with the last scheduled exam beginning no later than 2:00pm.
  4. Testing rooms fill up quickly during midterms and finals, so it is best to reserve early. Because of the increased demand during midterms and finals, we have extended testing hours and prescheduled time slots for those exams.

After Student Support Services receives the request, you will be sent a confirmation email.

If the Request Process Is Not Followed

If a student fails to notify Student Support Services of the test in the 2-business-day time frame, he/she may be denied accommodations for that particular exam. The student would then be expected to take the exam with the class in the time frame allotted to the class.

If notification of an upcoming test or quiz is not provided to students by the instructor 2 business days or more prior to the test, the instructor would be allowed to provide the accommodations or an alternate testing date or time will be agreed upon.

Student Support Services appreciates the efforts of everyone in the success of this process. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 918 495-6655 or email disabilityservices@oru.edu.
