Commencement will be held in the Mabee Center at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Students are to assemble in the Practice Gym no earlier than 11:30 a.m. Rehearsal for commencement will be held in the Mabee Center at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019.
To be eligible to participate in commencement, your student account must be paid in full by April 12, 2019. Charges incurred after this deadline will be billed to you at a later date. Account balances will delay the mailing of your diploma as well as prohibit you from receiving transcripts. Your balance with the library or telephone business center must be paid in full no later than April 12, 2019.
All students are required to Apply to Graduate on VISION. By submitting your application you are notifying the Registrar's Office as well as your academic department of your intent to graduate. Students completing their course work in the fall must submit their Application no later than December 1. After this date students who have completed their course work in the fall must submit a paper Application for Candidacy. All other students must Apply to Graduate on VISION no later than April 5, 2019, if they want to be included in the Commencement Bulletin (program). This includes those students who will be completing their course work in the summer of 2019.
In addition to applying to graduate, undergraduate students with more than six hours of course work to complete in the summer must submit a Petition to Participate in Commencement. This request may be completed electronically. Please click here to access the website. Once you sign in select "new" and then Graduation Participation. You will need to enter the total number of hours that need to be completed in the summer and the specific courses that are to be taken. You must be enrolled in all summer course work at the time that your petition is submitted in order for it to be processed.

Be sure to attend your Department Hooding Ceremony. Please contact your academic department for additional information in regards to the location and time of your Hooding Ceremony. You must have your application to graduate filed on VISION no later than February 28, 2019, in order for your name to appear in the program for your Hooding Ceremony.

This year's Graduation Fair will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2019. The event will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the LRC. During this time you can confirm that your Application for Candidacy has been received and how your name will be printed in the Commencement Program and on your diploma. Representatives from areas throughout the University will be on hand to ensure that you have taken care of all loose ends before Commencement.
Class of 2019! Get ready for Grad Launch!
On May 4, you’ll walk across the Mabee Center stage as a member of ORU’s 52nd graduating class. That’s something to celebrate—and the Alumni Association is throwing a party in your honor!
You are invited to our third annual Grad Launch. It will be immediately following Grad Chapel on April 24th in the Hammer Center. Graduating seniors will be provided a free lunch, swag bag and tons of door prizes.

Legacy Parent and student Breakfast
The Legacy Parent & Student Breakfast will be held on May 4 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Skyline 60 in CityPlex Towers. The annual complimentary Legacy Parent & Student Breakfast is for alumni whose sons and daughters are graduating from ORU this May. Please register HERE.
Career Services invites all graduating students to create a profile within the University’s Golden Hire Network (online job database). This database is to inform students, graduates and alumni of current job opportunities posted by hiring employers, career events, and mentoring or volunteer needs. Resources for job searching, resume building, networking, interviewing and much more are on their WEBSITE. Even if you have a job secured or will be going on to graduate school, please register with this system! Let us help you transition from a finished education into your successful career! Federal regulations require all student loan borrowers (Stafford, Direct and Perkins) to complete an exit interview before graduating. Please check VISION for your loan types and amounts borrowed. Complete your Stafford/Direct Loan exit interviews online at https://studentloans.gov. For Perkins Loans you must pick up an exit packet at the Student Loan Department. Incomplete exit interviews will create a hold on your academic records. if you have any questions you may contact the Student Loan Department at 918-495-6385.
You will be kept up to date on Commencement and Rehearsal as well as additional pertinent information concerning graduation as it becomes available.
