The mission of the Oral Roberts University Alumni Association is to support the University and serve its alumni. We support the University by promoting interest in, securing financial commitment for, and advancing the accomplishment of the mission of ORU. We serve the alumni by providing information, programs, and activities that encourage them to fulfill their calling to "go into every man's world" with the light and healing power of God.

ORU DEBT DIPS BELOW $1 MILLION AT THE CLOSE OF MATCHING CAMPAIGN

Thanks to the generous support of donors and the Board of Trustees, the debt at Oral Roberts University has been reduced to just under $720,000. This new total is being announced along with a preliminary summary of the Renewing the Vision Matching Campaign that raised over $22 million from 15,796 donors.

"I am incredibly excited about the debt being reduced by such a significant amount. Debt is one of the dragons that ORU needed to slay to ensure economic sustainability, and we are almost there," said Mart Green, board chair of the ORU Board of Trustees. "I want to thank all of the alumni and friends of the university who graciously gave to support the new ORU."

The trustees of ORU were excited about the quantity and dollar amounts of contributions being made by alumni and donors.

Alums Vote 'Yes' on Constitutional Changes

The Alumni Association Constitution is changing.

Of those ORU graduates who voted on a recent referendum to change portions of the document, 91% gave their approval.  The changes they approved will allow current Alumni Board members to appoint a small number of graduates to the board.  The majority of the board's members will still be selected through periodic elections in which all ORU graduates are entitled to vote.
