Nominate an Alumnus Now!
Oral Roberts' vision for the graduates of Oral Roberts University was to "go into every man's world."
“Raise up your students to hear My voice, to go where My light is seen dim, My voice is heard small, My power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Their works will exceed yours, and in this I am well pleased."
In 1998, the Alumni Board of Directors established an "Alumnus of the Year" awards program. Recipients are honored at the annual Homecoming President’s Banquet with a video tribute and an award.
In recognition of those who have embodied the vision of Oral Roberts University, we invite you to nominate such alumni.
In making your nomination, choose from one of the following three categories. If you believe your nominee fits in more than one category, or if you are submitting nominations for more than one person, please fill out a separate form for each.
- Distinguished Service to God--Excellence in fulfillment of Oral Roberts' vision for students to go into "everyman's world" through full- or part-time ministry in a church, missions organization, or other ministry.
- Distinguished Service to the Community--Excellence in serving the community and society, including those outside the Kingdom of God, by bringing God's voice, light, and power into their world; and excellence in meeting unique challenges presented by their environment.
- Distinguished Service to the Alma Mater--Excellence in their field of service, contributions to the total life of the University, and spiritual impact on students, the ORU community, and fellow alumni. Nominations based in part on outstanding or faithful financial support of ORU are welcomed, but this is not a prerequisite for the award.
In all three categories, quality and longevity of service and ministry will be considered. Those who have served "quietly and faithfully" will be on equal footing with those who are widely recognized for their work. Each nominee's life and conduct should reflect Christ's character as revealed in scripture.
Nominations are due by July 1. For more information, contact your board representative or the Office of Alumni Relations at 918-495-6610.
