International Students
Welcoming Those From Other Nations
You are in good company when you enroll at ORU. Not only do we have a large contingent of international students representing 70 countries around the world, but we also have a campus community that is warm and welcoming to people from every nation.
Students who are not citizens of the U.S. or do not have a Green Card are considered international students.
International Freshman Student Status
To be an international freshman on our campus you must have fewer than 15 credit hours from a regionally accredited or otherwise recognized post-secondary institution. To be considered for full acceptance, you must meet the following three criteria.*
- You must rank in the top 40 percent of your graduating class.
- You must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.6 or above (on a 4.0 scale) or a General Education Degree (GED) of 52.
- You must have an ACT score of 20 or higher or an SAT score of 940 or higher (math and critical reading only) or a TOEFL score of at least 61 (internet-based), 173 (computer-based) or 500 (paper-based).
*If you do not meet all of these criteria, you may be considered for probationary and/or conditional acceptance.
International Transfer Student Status
If you have completed 15 or more college credit hours from a regionally accredited or otherwise recognized post-secondary institution after high school graduation, you will be considered an international transfer student.
As an international transfer student, you will need a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA to be considered for full admission. If you have attended more than one institution, the GPA from each school will be combined to calculate your cumulative GPA.
