Application Requirements
1. Complete an application for admission
2. Submit a personal sketch/essay (Note: Should be type written and at least two double-spaced pages.)
The questions to be addressed in your personal sketch/essay are as follows:
a). Why do you desire to attend Oral Roberts University, and how does this relate to your life goals?
b.) Describe your own religious experience, past and present.
c.) Discuss major events which have occurred in your life.
d.) Why have you chosen your field of vocation/ministry, and how do you see the degree program for which you are making application equipping you for that field?
e.) If you are an international student, please explain why you desire to study in the United States.
3. $35 Application Fee (U.S. Dollars)
Attach the $35 application fee in the form of a traveler's check, money order or a check (from a U.S. bank only) payable to ORAL ROBERTS UNIVERSITY. Do not send cash.
4. Sign the Honor Code
All ORU students accept the Code of Honor as their lifestyle while at ORU. Be sure to read and sign the Code of Honor, thus acknowledging your acceptance of the ORU lifestyle.
5. Minister's Recommendation
A minister's recommendation must be completed by a minister or church leader who is not related to you and mailed directly from the church office to the ORU Office of Graduate Admissions.
6. Academic Recommendations
Two academic recommendations from current or former professors not related to you are required. Professional recommendations may be submittied if you have not been in college within the last five years. Each of these recommendations should be returned to ORU directly by the person submitting the reference.
7. Academic History Documentation
DOMESTIC STUDENTS
Official transcripts must be received directly from all colleges and universities attended in their original sealed envelopes.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Submit official transcripts, matriculation certificates, mark sheets and/or diplomas with English translation from your undergraduate/graduate school(s) to World Education Services (WES)* for a course-by-course evaluation. An official evaluation of your academic history will be sent by WES to Oral Roberts University.
*Academic History Documentation must be submitted to World Education Services (WES) by completing the Application for Evaluation of Internalized Educational Credentials. The application is available online at www.wes.org/application.
8. Official Test Scores
Test scores are only required of MBA students who wish to seek academic scholarships from the University - it is not a requirement for admission. Official scores from the Graduate Managment Admissions Test (GMAT), the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), OR the National Field Test taken within the past five years may be submitted to the University in order to apply for academic scholarships.
9. Information specific for INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

a.) ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS: Oral Roberts University requires proof that you have sufficient knowledge of the English language to succeed in your program of study. You must provide proof of English language proficiency before you can be admitted.
Provide official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79 (Internet based). Have the official test scores sent directly from English Testing Services to Oral Roberts University (institution code #6552). Test scores cannot be more than two years old. Registration material for the test may be obtained at the TOEFL website: www.toefl.org.
b.) FINANCIAL GUARANTEE FORM
When attending ORU on an F-1 student visa, all financial requirements must be proven in order for ORU to issue the immigration document I-20 form. The ORU Financial Guarantee Form must be completed fully including:
- Signature of applicant with understanding of cost of education.
- Signature of Affidavit and understanding of cost of education by the Guarantor.
- Signature and Seal of the financial institution of the Guarantor. If the institution is unable to sign the Financial Guarantee Form, a letter from the institution on letterhead with seal and signature is required, verifying the financial
ability of the Guarantor.

Additional Important Information
Tuition Deposit
After admissions has been granted, a non-refundable advance tuition payment int he amount of $125.00 is required. This deposit will be credited to your University account.
Medical Assessment and Immunization Record
In accordance with the University's philosophy of educating the whole man (mind, body and spirit), all students are required to participate in the University's health and fitness program. A medical assessment form and immunization records must be completed after admission to the University and submitted prior to the first day of class.
Housing Options
Graduate students and student over the age of 25 may live on campus with an approved petition through the Office of Student Development. Please contact the Graduate School of Business representative to receive the petition form.
Students desiring to live off campus must make their own arrangements. ORU provides a list of nearby apartments for your convenience. Please note that prices listed in the document may not reflect accurate prices.
