Participants are asked to draw from a given subject matter choosing a medium from pen and ink, charcoal, pencil, colored pencil or Conte' crayon with a 2 hour limit.

Regular sketching techniques must be used (Layering, shading, etc.).

Wax pigment or regular color pencils may be used.

Watercolor or oil based pencils are not permitted.

405 – Banners

Entries are prepared throughout the school year and submitted at Competition for judging. This year's subject matter focused on LIGHT and how you can spread the light of God throughout the world. The topic is based on the CSFC theme, Walk in the Light. The banner is to artistically communicate the theme and incorporate the theme scripture,   1John 1:7  - But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. (NIV).

New this year, the Banner event was a team project requiring four or more students to participate in designing and crafting the final entry.  As a team project, Banners were eligible for double points.

440 – Clothing Production

Any one garment (except a hat) may be entered and is judged by effectiveness of the production, accuracy to the pattern, and sewing technique. The garment must be modeled for judging.

480 – Design Project

This year's design project is hats. The hat can be part of an outfit, a fashion accessory that could be use with several outfits or be a functional winter accessory (for warmth).  The hat can be knitted, crocheted, sewn, embroidered, beaded, woven, etc.  

Judges will consider effectiveness of the production, accuracy to the pattern and workmanship.
