Frequently Asked Questions

Do I ever have to come to the campus to complete the ORU Distance Learning programs?
No. There is no need for you to come to campus to complete your degree, although you are certainly welcome to visit at any time, especially when it's time for you to graduate!


How much is tuition?
                                                                                                                                                                                   Classes done through the online campus are $413 per credit hour. There is a general fee of either $239 (12 or more hours) or $92 (less than 12 hours), and an additional technology fee $104. Administrative fees and text book costs are separate from tuition cost.

Is financial aid available?
Yes, financial aid is available for applicants who qualify, have completed full admission requirements, and are pursuing a degree through the ORU Distance Learning. A free application for Federal Student Aid can be completed at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Are scholarships available?
No, there are no scholarships available within the online program, however you can look into outside scholarships for additional assistance.

How do I get my books?
You can purchase your books through our campus bookstore at oru.bkstr.com.

The University Store at ORU has used, new, digital, and rental options for course materials. Orders can be paid for with a credit card or with Follett/Eagle Bucks and are shipped via FedEx.

To deposit funds on your Eagle Bucks account, visit www.oru.edu/eaglecard. You will need to have your Z# available to make online eagle buck deposits.


Is ORU accredited?
ORU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.


Do classes have specific start and end dates?
Yes, each ORU online course has a designated start and end date. Courses are offered in 8-week sessions with each semester (fall, spring, and summer) having two 8-week sessions each. Students can take one or two courses each of the 8-week sessions. Call for specific start dates.
