Ray Gregg

Assistant Professor of Accounting

Ray Gregg, Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business, is passionate about conveying the many positive aspects of accounting to his students.

Prior to coming to ORU, Mr. Gregg worked in public accounting at a regional CPA firm in Texas and taught at Arizona Western College. Additionally, he has taught part-time at Tulsa Community College and has represented ORU teaching at The Eighth Floor – a Technology Center for Educators. Mr. Gregg has received many honors and recognitions during his career including Outstanding Faculty Member, Oral Roberts University in 1977, the Ruth Swearingen Outstanding Faculty Member, Oral Roberts University, 1993, and the Harold and Edna Paul Outstanding Faculty member, Oral Roberts University 2007.

In the classroom, Mr. Gregg helps his students to understand “accounting is logical, important, relevant to our daily lives, and easy to understand when approached with a good start, discipline, and determination to master the concepts (and procedures).” An unexpected, new teaching emphasis resulted from a record snowfall in 2011 that preempted classes. Being proactive, Mr. Gregg loaded several videos to YouTube for his students’ use during this time. An unanticipated outcome of his resourcefulness was the discovery and use of his teaching videos by others around the world. Currently, the YouTube channel has over 7,400 “subscribers” and over 800,000 views.  Without leaving his classroom, Mr. Gregg has virtually gone into every person’s world!

Mr. Gregg received a B.B.A. in accounting at Texas Technological College and an M.B.A. at Texas Tech University.
