English Bible Concentration

Bachelor of Arts Degree

Program Overview

The greatest asset for effective integration of truth is a solid knowledge of the Bible. The biblical literature courses are designed to give students an understanding and appreciation of the Word of God and its application. The biblical literature major exposes students to a broad spectrum of hermeneutical and exegetical perspectives, tools and methods so they may interpret the Bible responsibly and perceptively within a theological-historical framework. Students who choose the biblical literature area choose one of three majors: English Bible, Old Testament or New Testament.

English Bible concentration leads the student in an in-depth examination of the contents of both the Old and New Testament and exegesis of the English text. The student may opt to study the biblical languages. Theological-historical courses are required in the cognate to enable the students to interpret the Bible within a sound theological-historical framework

English Bible Course Offerings

Prior to choosing this as my major, I had tried several others within the theology department, but I could not find one the fit me. After thinking about what I want to do with my life, I can honestly say that English Bible is the perfect fit for me. I will receive a solid biblical foundation from cover to cover. Not only is the Bible a text that we can learn from, but it also brings revelation knowledge about who God is, as well as who we are. With an English Bible major, you not only receive head knowledge, but heart knowledge; truly the best of both worlds!
