When you add internship work experience to your resume, you make yourself more valuable to prospective employers. You also get an up-close look at what it's actually like to work in a field, so you can know for sure before you graduate that you are pleased with your planned career path. For these reasons, internships are highly encouraged by our professors. The College of Science and Engineering and the Career Center work with you to find the right internship for your career goals and God's calling on your life. Many times internships evolve into full-time post-graduation employment.
Recent ORU students in the College of Science and Engineering have undertaken the following internships:
INTERNSHIP PROFILE NASA Internship at Marshall Space Flight Center For ORU Student
Jennifer Luth, an Engineering student at ORU, had an internship at a NASA center that was sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP). Jennifer was selected from among some 130 students from several hundred outstanding applicants, working on projects that impact the nation's space exploration missions.
NASA needed her to figure out how to use some new equipment and software that they had recently received, perform tests and then teach employees how to use the equipment.
"The experience that I gained at NASA was invaluable, and I am grateful for the opportunity that I got, in part from being a student at ORU."
